A documentary is defined as:
“A film, television or radio programme that provides a factual report on a particular subject.”
However, documentary films are SO MUCH MORE than that!
Documentary films have the power to move hearts and minds into action. As a result, they educate, inspire and help us relate to each other. FIFTY – The Movie did all of the above. Furthermore, it got people talking about mental health by breaking down the taboo.
FIFTY won awards for cinematography and editing at an international film festival. In addition, the documentary went on a sold out 23 stop cinema tour of New Zealand. Consequently, the tour raised further funds for the Mental Health Foundation. FIFTY is currently screening on all Air New Zealand International flights and also had its own pop up channel on Sky TV!

Fifty is a 90 minute documentary that follows Mal Law’s bold attempt to run 50 mountain marathons over 50 peaks in just 50 days, all around New Zealand. Most noteworthy, Mal raised an enormous amount of money for the Mental Health Foundation. The documentary is every bit as unique and epic as the adventure itself. It is a work of great power and beauty that perfectly captures the ups and downs – both literal and figurative – of what was billed.
